RE: The Tariff Classification of Glass Cartridge Replacement Fuses from China.

Dear Ms. Lawson:

In your letter dated May 20, 2002, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

As indicated by the submitted descriptive literature, glass cartridge replacement fuses, stock number 91279, are for miniature lights. Glass cartridge replacement fuses, stock number 91280, are for candoliers, C series lights. They are both rated at 125 volts, 5 amperes.

The applicable subheading for the Glass Cartridge Replacement Fuses will be 8536.10.0020, HTS, which provides for electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits, or for making connections to or in electrical circuits, for a voltage not exceeding 1,000 V: fuses: glass cartridge. The duty rate will be 2.7 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
